The mural Siete Punto Uno is located on Main Street in the town of Los Gatos, California. Los Gatos was one of the communities that suffered the most significant damage from the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. Considered the propitiator of earthquakes, the Mayan jaguar god (as represented in the mural) is grafted with the “cats” of Los Gatos to become one of the key metaphors of this concept.
Take a pew: This looks like a nice spot to rest your weary feet on a sidewalk in Sarasota County Health Center, FloridaBlurring the lines: A mural entitled Art Imitating Life Imitating Art Imitating Life, at the Cafe Trompe L'oeil, in San Jose, California
The creation Art Imitating Life Imitating Art Imitating Life at the Cafe Trompe L’oeil (now Cafe Espresso) in San Jose (pictured above), involved painstaking research and preparation including a coinciding trip to Paris, France. Here the use and integration of pre-existing surrounding material was taken to a new level. Every subject and artwork realized in this virtual extension of the restaurant are an original creation in their own right. Carefully crafted to more than just resemble the finest art of France’s past, its scholarly devotion to authenticity is an homage.

Children can cool off and play in a public fountain, climb the courtyard tree, or smell the sweet fragrance of a Florida orange. Using the illusionary painting style, arched entrances open into a world of Moorish architecture with a Southern Florida slant. The colorful approach to this mural project is not unlike the rest of the building’s Moroccan theme — not to mention the Opa Locka region.

U.C. Santa Cruz is often referred to as the ‘”school of organic consciousnesses”. This liberal beach city of Santa Cruz also seems to emulate that school of thought, striving to preserve its land and marine environment.

Pugh is used to people’s amazed reactions when they pass his murals. He said: ‘They say “wow did you see that. I thought that was real.”
‘Public art can link people together and stimulate a sense of pride within the community.
‘These life-size illusions allow me to communicate with a very large audience.
‘It seems almost universal that people take delight in being visually tricked.’

Jean Yves Lemoigne creates truly professional and sometimes very funny advertisng! Lemoigne’s photography is surreal, beautiful and thought provoking. It’s understandable therefore that so many big brands are interested in him.
Jean is a paris-based photographer. on his website you’ll a mixture of the frenchman’s work for advertising campaigns as well as some of his personal photo and film projects. He has made some amazing pieces of pixel art for the 3rd issue of Amusement magazine. I have absolutely no idea how he does it, but this just looks awesome!

The Airbus A380 is a double-deck, wide-body, four-engine airliner manufactured by the European corporation Airbus, a subsidiary of EADS. The largest passenger airliner in the world, the A380 made its maiden flight on 27 April 2005 from Toulouse, France, and made its first commercial flight on 25 October 2007 from Singapore to Sydney with Singapore Airlines. The aircraft was known as the Airbus A3XX during much of its development phase, but the nickname Superjumbo has since become associated with it.
The A380’s upper deck extends along the entire length of the fuselage, and its width is equivalent to that of a widebody aircraft. This allows for a cabin with 50% more floor space than the next-largest airliner, the Boeing 747-400, and provides seating for 525 people in a typical three-class configuration or up to 853 people in all economy class configurations. The postponed freighter version, the A380-800F, is offered as one of the largest freight aircraft, with a payload capacity exceeded only by the Antonov An-225. The A380-800 has a design range of 15,200 km (8,200 nmi), sufficient to fly from Boston to Hong Kong for example, and a cruising speed of Mach 0.85 (about 900 km/h or 560 mph at cruising altitude).

Alex Queral, 51, from Philadelphia, US, carves famous faces out of phone books. The artist got his idea and started chipping away when he noticed piles of unused phone books just lying around.
The resourceful artist now produces up to two new impressions every month and has been crafting his works for 14 years. He begins by selecting his famous face and copies it by freehand sketching. His drawing is then placed over the phone book as a template and he uses an artist’s scalpel or basic razor blades to patiently slice away at the thousands of pages inside the famous book. He said: “Every year when the new phone book comes out you see just piles of the old ones lying around waiting for collection. “It can be quite tense work sometimes because it takes a long time to finish and when you cut something away you can’t get it back again”.
