Top Ten Most Recognizable Cartoon Dogs

Top Ten Most Recognizable Cartoon Dogs

Dogs in cartoons have been popular going back over to over 50 years ago, which is why a list had to be made of the top ten cartoon dogs that you’d be most likely to recognize.

top ten most recognizable cartoon Top Ten Most Recognizable Cartoon Dogs

10. Blue

Anyone that had a child after 1996 will instantly recognize Blue from the Nickelodian show “Blue’s Clues.” The show was designed to help children learn while watching television at home, and it quickly turned into one of the most successful children’s cartoons of all-time.

9. Astro

Astro was the beloved dog of Elroy on the iconic television show “The Jetsons.” Astro gained popularity by fans for his fun loving personality despite always doing something that would anger George.

8. Huckleberry Hound

Huckleberry Hound has been around since the late 1950s, and is best known for his slow talking southern accent. The character started on “The Huckleberry Hound Show,” but has also appeared on countless other cartoons.

7. Brian Griffin

Brian Griffin may be one of the newest cartoon dogs created, but that does not make him any less recognizable. While most of the dogs on this list come from wholesome shows, Brian Griffin is known for constantly drinking martinis on the raunchy cartoon “Family Guy.”

6. Santa’s Little Helper

“The Simpsons” is the longest running television show in the history of the United States, so it makes perfect sense for their dog to make this list. While Santa’s Little Helper may not be in every episode of “The Simpsons,” it would not be the same show without him. He is also one of the few cartoon dogs that does not have any human traits.

5. Odie

Odie may be Garfield’s sidekick, but that does not stop him from being one of the best cartoon dogs of all-time. Odie may not be the smartest dog, but his uplifting personality makes him impossible to dislike.

4. Lady & the Tramp

They may be two dogs, but it is impossible to seperate these two iconic Disney characters. They may have only appeared in one film, but “Lady and the Tramp” has been seen by hundreds of millions since its release in theaters in 1955. The film has become so iconic that it is still shown to children today.

3. Pluto

Pluto made his first appearance with Mickey Mouse in 1930, and he is still appears in cartoons today. Pluto is the only one of the Disney cartoon animals that does not walk around as a human.

2. Scooby-Doo

This crime solving dog has appeared in hundreds of television, and has even starred in four feature films. The Scooby-Doo character has become so iconic that he has had his own animated series nearly every year since his debut in 1969.

1. Snoopy

It is impossible to have a list of cartoon dogs without including Snoopy. While Snoopy is the most recognizable cartoon dog, he may also be the most recognizable cartoon character of all-time. Snoopy has been around since 1950 and it did not take long for him to become more popular than his owner Charlie Brown.

Top Three List Of Home Buyers Requests

Top Three List Of Home Buyers Requests

top three list home buyers Top Three List Of Home Buyers Requests

If you’re getting ready to sell your home, it’s important to keep in mind what buyers’ expectations are today. By knowing what house buyers are looking for in their next home, you can make your house more appealing to them by transforming it into a space that they won’t be able to resist. Make sure that you follow the list of common requests that buyers make, located below, so that you can watch the bidding wars begin and sell your home at the highest price possible.

Open Floor Plan

top three list home buyers1 Top Three List Of Home Buyers Requests

One of the first things that people look for in a house is an open floor plan. Rather than designating a separate area for a living room, dining room, and kitchen, today’s buyers are looking for open concepts that allow everyone to mingle at the same time, no matter what room they’re in. This is especially important for those who wish to entertain in their home, as well as for parents who want to keep an eye on their children who may be playing in the living room while they’re preparing dinner in the kitchen.

If your home has an open floor plan, make the most of it by arranging your furniture in a way that really shows off the amount of space you have. You also want to remove any clutter by organizing your belongings.

On the other hand, if you do not have an open floor plan, you will need to invest quite a bit of money into hiring a construction crew that can knock down walls and open up the space for you. If you are finding it really difficult to sell your home, this investment may be necessary, but rest assured that it will pay itself back by allowing you to sell your home at a higher price.

The Right Floors

top three list home buyers2 Top Three List Of Home Buyers Requests

Many homebuyers today prefer the look of hardwood floors instead of other types of flooring. If you want to quickly and cheaply update your floors, you can opt for laminate flooring, which looks just as good but is less expensive than actual hardwood. Make sure that you choose the right colour flooring to match the rest of a room’s décor and to create an inviting, uniform space that buyers can envision themselves in. If you already have hardwood floors in place, make sure that you really polish and buff them so that they look clean and new.

A Modern Kitchen

The right kitchen can really add value to a home, so if you need to update yours in order to lure more buyers in, you can rest assured that your investment will pay itself back. A modern kitchen that includes updated wood cabinets, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances will really lure buyers in and make them want to stay.

If you want to sell your home quickly, you need to know what buyers are looking for. From the right floor plan to the right kitchen, basic changes can make a huge difference in your ability to sell.

Top Five Benefits Of Hardwood Floors

Top Five Benefits Of Hardwood Floors

One of the main things you will notice about hardwood floors, whether they are installed at home or in the office, is that they add a certain touch of class. They look great and take us back to a more traditional time when hardwood floors were the norm. However, not only does this type of flooring look great it also adds certain strength and depth to the overall structure of a property. One thing we are aware of, though, is that hardwood floors have been extremely popular for many years and it appears they will continue to be so. This post will introduce you to some of the benefits of having this type of flooring in your home or office.

Easy Installation

Admittedly, it will help if you’ve laid a hardwood floor before, but once you get the hang of it you will find it very straightforward. Hardwood floors have been specifically manufactured and produced so that they provide a uniform fit. However, prior to installation it is probably best to decide whether you prefer prefinished or unfinished flooring.

Easy to Clean

top five benefits hardwood floors2 Top Five Benefits Of Hardwood Floors

This may be one of the major reasons that people turn to hardwood floors, as they are exceptionally easy to keep clean. Unfortunately, when it comes to carpeted floors it’s difficult to know what germs or creatures may be lurking. However, with hardwood flooring it is far easier to tell when it needs to be cleaned, although they don’t usually accumulate a lot of dirt and dust anyway. You can easily get away with vacuuming, mopping and drying on a weekly basis.

They Look Great

It must be said, that hardwood floors do look great in just about any environment. They look extremely elegant and typically look as though they cost a lot of money, which isn’t always the case. There are also many different species of wood to choose from and the various shades and unfinished colors may help to compliment other items in your home. Hardwood floors also have an uncanny knack of making an area look far more spacious.

Hardwood floors are manufactured in such a way that they are expected to last from many, many years. They are even kiln-dried during the production process, which only goes to make them even stronger and more durable. If you have particular high traffic areas of your home then you may be best off installing this type of flooring, as it can certainly take pretty much whatever you want to throw at it.

A Great Investment

A wood floor in general can be considered a great investment, as they are known to increase the value of property. When you look at the factors mentioned above it’s easy to see why. You may not be looking to sell your home right now, but by installing hardwood flooring you are definitely making an investment in your future. In fact, you will typically find that this type of flooring will increase the value of your property by far more than the initial cost of the flooring and installation. This in itself is a great reason to have hardwood floors, as there aren’t many items around the home that would add value like this.

Top 5 Beaches To Visit In America

Top 5 Beaches To Visit In America

Not all beaches are created equal. When thinking about the best beaches in all of the United States, I had a problem just keeping it down to five. I could name at least 20 beaches off the top of my head in the United States that would make the bill as a top beach, but I tried my best to choose the best of the best. This list includes some of the most unique beaches in the world. Feel free to leave a comment telling us about beaches you think deserve an honorable mention.

top beaches visit america Top 5 Beaches To Visit In America

Cape Florida State Park, Key Biscayne, Florida

One thing you must do if you come to this beach is watch the sun set and sun rise from this beach, because it is one of the few beaches in the main land in the United States where you can watch the sun do its thing over the water without actually needing to move. When a hurricane devastated this park nearly 20 years ago, Florida decided to completely revamp the park with native plants and remove non-native plants. It is one of the finest displays of what Florida flora is supposed to be without the accidental and purposeful disruption of us humans. You can also find 50 different butterfly and 170 bird species wondering the park. Really cute raccoons wonder the park, who aren’t all that afraid of humans probably because tourists have fed them too many times.

Here you can also find some interesting and quirky sites. A unique example of a human habitat of houses on stilts out on the water called Stiltsville that has been there in one form or another since the 1920s. Don’t forget to check out the free light house tour that is offered at 10 am and 1 am to get a unique view of the island. The tour is actually action packed and worth your while, it includes a story of a man who was chased up the lighthouse only to have his enemies catch it on fire. This is a perfect beach for vacationers with small children since the island is blocked from most waves, so it is extremely gentle water to swim in.

Cape Hatteras, Outer Banks, North Carolina

This beach includes 72 miles of vistas with sand dune beaches that have some of the best surf in the Eastern United States. It is a perfect destination for those who like a mix of the natural world and vacation world. It attracts a crowd of outdoorsy tourists who like to get away from the stereotypical hyped beach themes of the rest of the Outer Banks, so there isn’t a lot of touristy junk like mini-golf, goofily named restaurant or tourist shops. The focus is more set on nature and water sports, and there are a lot of different things to explore between the marshlands, the barrier reef, sand dunes, wide beaches, maritime forests.  You can let your eco-friendly side go wild at Cape Hatteras.

Recently the Cape Hatteras light house was moved 2,870 feet from its original location due to erosion. It is fun to actually go see how far they moved this enormous light house. For those who are curious, there are plenty of articles regarding exactly how you move a historic light house that long of a distance.

Manela Bay, Hawaii

Hulopo’e Beach is at the base of the Four Season Laina’I at Manela Bay; if you can afford it, I definitely recommend staying at this Four Seasons. The beach overlooks the wildlife preserve Manela Bay that features some of the most pristine snorkeling and diving spots in the world. The perfect 70 degree water will tempt even the most hesitant of swimmers to explore the aquatic wonderland available here. Walk along the beach to find the red-cliff sweet heart rocks that are a wonder of their own.

This bay is located on the cleanest and most exclusive Hawaii Island, Lana’i. There are only 30 miles of actual road on this island that is mainly dedicated to just tourism now, so it isn’t the best choice for those who want to explore more of Hawaiian culture without hopping on a small plane to get to another island. It is perfect for travelers who want a luxury beach get away where they don’t have to even leave the resort to get the full experience paradise.

Magens Bay Beach, St Thomas

Protected by two peninsulas, this beach boasts some of the calmest water in the Virgin Islands to swim in. It is a half mile-loop of perfectly sandy beaches that are part of a 68 acre park with one mile of sand beach, a six acre arboretum, two acres of camping ground, 15 acres of mangroves, wetlands and 5 acres of coconut groves.

Travelers either hate or really love the lively partying crowd on this beach. If you are looking for a serene beach away from people, Magens Bay Beach is probably not for you. Travelers that are looking for a good time, good people watching or good crowd energy will love it here. To get away from the crowds, walk away from the concession and restaurant areas where people usually crowd around for convenience.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida

I know we already mentioned a Florida beach, but Fort Lauderdale is a completely different experience from Key Biscayne. Fort Lauderdale is a less snobby version of Miami-Beach, and it is a lot more affordable than staying in Miami too. If you want to check out the party scene in Miami it is a short drive south, but there are plenty of places to have a good time in the Fort Lauderdale area.

The narrow beach is across a narrow highway from many hotels, restaurants, shops and bars. It is a thin beach, so even on a crowded day you don’t feel like there are a bunch of people between your beach towel and your ocean view. The water can get a bit choppy during storm season, but the temperature is always perfect for a dip. There is a nice wide concrete sidewalk that goes up along the beach that is fun for rolling blading, jogging or strolling. Fort Lauderdale is a perfect destination for travelers who want to experience South Florida, but without the heavy price tag that comes with staying in Miami.

Holly Williford is a beach connoisseur and thinks no vacation is complete with one. She currently lives in land-locked Washington D.C. suburbs. She can’t wait to explore the historical and beautiful Ghana coast next year via a tour to Ghana with Palace Travel.

Top Fancy Dress Ideas For Your Wedding

fancy dress ideas wedding Top Fancy Dress Ideas For Your Wedding

Having a fancy dress wedding is something that isn’t going to appeal to everyone. Some people will undoubtedly accuse these kinds of weddings of being novelties, at the expense of being taken seriously. Others will be aware that some of their guests might not get into the spirit of things – and that having a fancy dress wedding could even put them off the whole idea of coming. Others still will simply not like fancy dress – particularly on a day when they’re supposed to be able to look their very best.

But for others, fancy dress weddings are a fantastic concept – a brilliant way to add something completely different and unique to their special day and ensure that it is as memorable as possible. A great way to ensure that everyone has a good time and a good laugh, and even a unique form of expression that will allow them to show the world who they are as a couple.

So if you fall into that latter camp, let’s take a look at some ideas for fancy dress that might just be perfect for your wedding. And if you do not? Read on anyway – because you might find that the idea isn’t quite as vulgar as you at first thought.

fancy dress ideas wedding1 Top Fancy Dress Ideas For Your Wedding

One of the reasons that you might want to consider fancy dress even if it isn’t normally your kind of thing, is that it can be subtle thing. You don’t necessarily have to go all out or go crazy with your costumes, and you don’t have to put pressure on your guests to do so either. Just invite your guests to add a single item to their outfit for instance – such as a hat. This way there will be something unique and consistent about your day, and it will help to get people into the spirit – but it won’t take over the whole event.

Other similar examples could be to get everyone to wear wellies with their outfits (the juxtaposition looks great in the wedding photography) or to wear a single item of red.

Going All Out

fancy dress ideas wedding2 Top Fancy Dress Ideas For Your Wedding

On the other hand though, if you do want to go all out, then there are a few themes you can come up with that will really add to the occasion.

For instance, why not get everyone to come as zombies – a zombie bride always look amazing. Alternatively you could do a superhero theme, a pirates theme, a ‘medieval theme’ or a Disney theme (great if the bride has always wanted a fairy tale wedding).

The secret to a good theme is to make sure that it’s something everyone can appreciate – so nothing too niche that other people just won’t get. That said though, do make sure that there’s an element of ‘you’ in that choice – your theme should say something about you as a couple whether it’s a TV series that you both love, or whether it’s somehow connected to how you met.

Finally, make sure that you go all-out with the little touches. Themed cakes, themed music and themed drinks can all help to really sell your unique idea.

Top 5 Tips For Workplace Safety

Top 5 Tips For Workplace Safety

Looking for ways to make your workplace safer and cut back on costly injuries? Quite often workplace safety involves a common sense approach. However, from time to time, it’s good to brush up on the safety basics and learn new tips or tricks that can help you to reduce those workplace injuries.

  • Carry out regular pat testing. PAT (portable appliance testing) gives you the opportunity to ensure that all of your workplace machinery and appliances are in proper working order. This can reduce the risk of injury and make your workplace safer, given that it allows for you to detect any problems that may lead to malfunction and catastrophic injuries. There are a number of pat testing companies that can help you to verify that all of your appliances are in proper working order and won’t pose a safety risk to your employees or co-workers.
  • Ensure that your gas appliances are safe with regular gas servicing. Gas leaks can not only      lead to a loss of profit, due to the fact that you will have to shut down your place of work until the situation is resolved, but it can also result in bodily harm. Therefore, ensuring that you have your appliances checked via routine gas servicing can provide you with a safer workplace and even      reduce incidents of lost revenue.
  • Wear appropriate safety gear when at work. Always (no exceptions) ensure that you and your      employees are wearing the appropriate safety gear, such as hard hats, safety eye wear, or the proper uniforms. This is one of the easiest ways      to keep your workplace safe and sound, and to make certain that the risk of injuries is greatly decreased.
  • Take breaks on a regular basis. Workers who are overworked or exhausted from their duties can increase the likelihood of injuries. Therefore, it’s important to take regular breaks and to encourage that others at your place of employment do the same. Even if you simply take a few minutes away from the compute or machines, this tiny rest from work can give you the power to perform your job more efficiently and without running the risk of injuring yourself or others.
  • Have an open line of  communication between employer and employees. Communication is key, especially when it comes to workplace safety. Employers should inform their employees about the best ways to stay safe, and employees should feel free to speak to their employers about any safety hazards that they notice while at work. If employees are, on the other hand, afraid or apprehensive to speak to their employers about issues that may be experiencing at work that can      result in safety mishaps, then this can lead to a serious risk of injury.

If you would like to share some tips for workplace safety, then please post a comment below. We would love to hear your thoughts on how to stay safe at the work place or any stories that you may have regarding past work place safety incidents that others might find helpful.

Top Tips For Creating A Video Opener For Your Corporate Videos

Top Tips For Creating A Video Opener For Your Corporate Videos

marketing 101 Top Tips For Creating A Video Opener For Your Corporate Videos

If you are a business looking to tap into the awesome power of video marketing to help promote your products and services, then you are going to be relying on a number of videos to try and promote and sell your various products and services. In order to make these as effective as possible and to help them strengthen your brand in general, you should aim to create a consistent style across these videos and to ensure that they have a professional feel to them.

One of the best ways to accomplish this, is by creating a great opener to start off your videos. This way you will set the tone of your video, introduce your brand and at the same time ensure that every video you may has a consistent quality to it. Here we will look at some top tips to help you create such an opener.

What is An Opener?

First of all, what are the specifications for your opener? Well usually this will be a short clip that goes at the start of the video normally not lasting more than five seconds (longer and you may risk losing your audience to boredom). This will normally feature the brand logo prominently and perhaps a short jingle (if not, you might alternatively have a ‘wooshing sound’ to back up the animation).

The Animation

Including your logo in the opening is the first requirement for your opener and should help you to strengthen your brand awareness while at the same time lending consistency and context to the videos. You can start off with just a blank look at your logo then but you should aim to include some kind of animation in order to justify the video format of the clip.

Common tropes for video openers are to show the logo moving (normally stopping in the middle), to rotate the camera around the logos in 3D, to fade them in or out (perhaps with a fancy effect) or to cast them in changing lighting.

Whichever of these types of animation you go for, try to make the opening link to your industry and your mission statement. In other words, if you work in electronics, then your opener could use imagery involving electricity or circuitry which would make more sense than just a ‘generic’ sweeping movement of the camera.

Likewise you should also think about how you can make your video opener different from other openers and a bit more creative. This is something that your corporate video production company may be able to help with – spit ball ideas with them and think of something that will be genuinely interesting to look at and novel without being gimmicky.

If you want to take this further and make your opener more relevant you can also think about the way you segue into the start of the video. Perhaps for instance you could have your logo ‘build itself’ in panels and then unfold in the same way to reveal the video underneath, or perhaps you could cut to another screen in the same style with the title of your video. This will require more work each time you create a new video but will make your videos appear more thoroughly thought through and consistently designed – rather than just having a random clip attached to the start.

Author of this post, Leo Roach; works for a leading video production company. He has worked on some important assignments in his professional career and has credible experience of creating video opener’s for corporates. So, in this article, he has shared some useful tips regarding the same.

Top Persuasive Writing Secrets For E-Mail Marketing Campaigns

Top Persuasive Writing Secrets For E-Mail Marketing Campaigns

marketing campaigns Top Persuasive Writing Secrets For E Mail Marketing Campaigns

E-mail marketing gives you the ability to address potential clients and customers directly in their inboxes. They’ll be sitting at their computer loading it up first thing in the morning and then they’ll see your message waiting for them as clear as day. This is of course an incredibly powerful tool, but getting your messages into a lead’s inbox is only really part of the story – you also then need to be able to convince them effectively that your products or services are for them and worthwhile. Here we will look at some of the ways you can do this and make your words almost hypnotic.

QUICK! Grab Their Attention

Your first challenge with e-mail marketing and indeed any persuasive writing is to grab the attention of your readers before they get bored and move on. The internet has trained many of us to have very short attention spans as we get the information we need and then quickly move on to look elsewhere. If you don’t manage to grab your readers’ attention in the first few seconds then, you’ll lose them and your message will just be deleted.

There are many ways you can grab attention in an e-mail, but some of the most effective are to start out with sweeping or controversial statements (‘Did you know your current phone plan is wasting you hundreds of dollars a month?’), to direct the reader directly and ask them a question (‘What’s one thing YOU would change about your life?’) or to attempt to echo what the reader might be thinking (‘Think this is just another boring marketing message? Think again!’).

Tell Them What They Want to Hear

People as a rule are rather stubborn and they don’t tend to stick around to hear things they don’t like. A good strategy if you want to convince them of your point of view then is to make it sound very much like their point of view, and to tell them the things they want to hear. For instance then you could start off by saying that their current set up is a smart option but that they could be saving more money. That way you’ve complimented them and then told them something they want to hear. Another example of a popular statement might be ‘Maintaining a ripped physique doesn’t have to be hard’ or ‘You already have all the tools you need to become rich’.

Let Them Fill in the Gaps

Changing someone’s mind is also rather impossible, so rather than trying to do this directly, instead use questions and suggestions to guide them to your conclusion. Don’t outright tell someone that they’re wasting money, but instead invite them to consider ‘whether they could be saving more’. The difference is very subtle, but the result is powerful.

Use Facts and Authorities

People as a rule have a tendency to ignore opinions and gravitate instead towards facts – even when those facts aren’t based on any particularly powerful evidence. For example then, if you want to sell an eBook on making money, stating that 8 out of 10 people (it’s important to be realistic) saw an 40% increase in their salary over two years is a much more effective piece of text than saying that you guarantee their success.

Use these methods with your email marketing services and you can turn your whole mailing list into paying customers.
