Martin Luther King was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Every year the Martin Luther King Day is celebrated in January in USA. Martin Luther King received Nobel Peace Prize in the year 1964, 4 years before his dead in 1968 (assassinated by James Earl Ray, a fugitive from the Missouri State Penitentiary). He received Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1977 and Congressional Gold Medal in 2004, both posthumous of course. Martin Luther King was a prominent leader in the African American civil rights movement.
