When you go through a divorce, you essentially go through the same process of grieving that you do when someone dies. You may need to be extra forgiving and accept that some people will stick by you and some will not. Those that do are your true friends.
5. Get Excited About the Future
No one ever wants to go through a divorce, but great things can often come out of terrible situations. Accept that you were wrong about your path in life and be willing to fully embrace your future. Get excited about things that you were not able to accomplish while with your partner, such as returning to school, going traveling alone or meeting someone new and falling in love again.
After a divorce, it is normal to wonder if you will ever feel happy again. The time it takes to do so will vary greatly depending on the individual.
