This article has no foundation in history, fact, or even ancient literature. It was made up just for the sake of sounding cool. There are no ties between Atlantis and the Crystal Skulls aside from what people created off the top of their heads because they want to believe it is true. During the 1970′s there was a huge influx of paranormal beliefs, new ageism, spirituality, and belief in Alien life. The Crystal Skulls’ tie to Atlantis is the result of the post free-love psychedelic movement; the LSD and Cocaine-fueled 70′s. There’s no scientific, historical, or even logical validation for this correlation. This belief is an archaeological equivalent of claiming that the Easter Bunny is the roommate of the Loch Ness Monster and that they both work for the CIA. Just like an organized religion, people believe it because they want to, often without question or critical thinking, and they spread the story as fact. And, just like religion, if you get enough people over years and years to repeat it as truth, people stop questioning the lie. The Crystal Skulls do exist. Atlantis, as of now, does not.

The correlation of Crystal Skulls to Atlantis is about as legitimate as the people who claim to be “1/8th Cherokee.” Coincidentally, Cherokee Princess Syndrome is another product of the 70′s.
